Helping You Get the Temporary Total Disability Benefits You Deserve

Suffering an injury at work can have serious consequences on your long-term physical and financial health. If your injury prevents you from working for more than seven days, then you are eligible for temporary total disability (TTD) benefits.

Temporary disability benefits can provide compensation for your medical expenses and lost wages from time off work. TTD works by granting you two-thirds of your average weekly wage before you were injured. Temporary total disability can run up to 400 weeks. However, if your doctor determines that you have reached maximum medical improvement before that time, then you may consider applying for permanent disability benefits.

If your employer or its insurance company does not accept your temporary disability benefits claim, then you must undergo an independent medical evaluation by a third-party doctor. If either party disagrees with the findings of the independent medical evaluation, you can request a hearing before the New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Board.
